In 2014 the Nurture Box project began and was seed funded through a grant from Redlands City Council. The Nurture Boxes are delivered to every mum who has a baby at the Redlands Hospital. The boxes are a beautiful care box for both mums and bubs and include pampering for new mums along with some gentle items for the baby. The Nurture Boxes also include local information of support services to assist women.
The Nurture Boxes are given to the 120+ mums who birth at the Redland Hospital every month. By connecting mothers with our Centre and volunteers we hope to reduce the health and social isolation impacts faced by new mothers and promote positive infant and maternal health in our community.
Our handmade items include tissue pack covers, a burb cloth and/or some hand knitted booties and mittens which are being made by volunteers of the Redlands Centre for Women.
To assist us in making these Nurture Boxes we are seeking donations of the following:
- 100% Cotton Fabric
- Baby wool
- Knitters and Sewers
If you would like to assist in making items for the Nurture Boxes please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
